I wish I had known my grandparents before they left this life. I was so immature and so involved in my own tiny world, I didn’t take time to know my grandparents until they were gone. Then, I only knew what my parents told me about them. This is but the way of life. A child is born and the child grows and the grandparents disappear often before the child is mature enough to know them. Thus, I thought it good to put down some things that is truly “D-Dad”. In my visits I will often share my sense of humor and play with the children. To know someone is to know what is in their heart. How they really think, their values, their deepest thoughts. It is unfortunate that grandchildren grow up so fast and their grandparents disappear from their lives so soon. None of these things have I gained on my own, like nearly everything in life, I learned it from someone else. The good is that I learned it, the bad is that it took me so long to truly learn it in my soul.
